I would be fine with a timeout, a warning ahead of the process that it'll take forever, a key combination I could press to stop it, or anything that would allow me to stop or prevent an insufferably long process that makes the software unresponsive - without having to terminate the whole software through the task manager and losing what I didn't save before the process started.
Example: take a long text, give it a very thick, heavily overlapping outline, convert the outline to an object, wait for an eternity...
Just adding this comment because I ran into the need of this feature once again, I had to terminate the program through the task bar and lose some of my progress just to get rid of an endless process.
