Importing pdf into document without interpreting

When creating document with segments provided by other designers (ads, graphics, logos ...) currently pdf documents are interpreted and often corrupted due to missing fonts, weird effects etc. Importing text as curves sometimes does not work as expected, files from CAD have tens of thousands objects whitch causes slow screen refresh etc. We should have option to just place pdf into our documents as they are with placeholder picture, like it is possible in other layout programs (InDesign, AF Publisher etc).
