when you import a PDF document, draw breaks paragraphs into individual lines of artistic text. This make editing almost impossible.

Thanks for raising this problem in the Ideas Portal!

With the new September 2023 Subscriber Update the PDF import capabilities have been vastly enhanced with improved text flow, enhanced text editability, accurate recognition of language order, retention of OpenType features and stylistic sets, and preservation of formatting and column layout, to ensure a fast and seamless transition of your PDF content into CorelDRAW.
Paragraphs are intelligently converted into Artistic and Paragraph text objects based on line length and spacial proximity, ensuring an accurate representation of the original text structure and organization.
Paragraph alignment, line spacing, drop caps, superscript and subscript characters, bulleted and numbered lists, and other formatting elements are precisely identified and maintained, preserving the intended visual appeal and integrity of your document.
Optimized paragraph handling, accurate recognition of formatting details, and smoother transitions for multi-column layouts streamline your editing workflow, making it easier and more efficient to work with imported PDF content.

The update can be downloaded from the Patches & Updates page.

Note that CorelDRAW Graphics Suite subscription product and CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2023 (one-time purchase) are listed with two separate entries for their updates. The enhanced and improved PDF import capabilities are available to users of CorelDRAW Graphics Suite Subscription as well as those purchasing CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2023 for perpetual use.

I'm pretty sure CDR does this to maintain line spacing and, therefore, the overall aspect of the document.

Quite often, if I open with text as curves, it distorts certain characters (e.g. "a" or "e" or "o"), causing them to have flat edges (always in the same place). As, OP above stated, it would be great if editing could be done as paragraphs. If we can export and open in a Word document, you certainly should be able to do this in CorelDraw.

I am in doubt. Does coreldraw breaks paragraph text or PDF can not support paragraph text?

I convert PDFs quite a lot to CorelDraw for various projects. When bringing in text, however, it separates every line of a paragraph into a single line of artistic text. It would be helpful if I could select them all and have a way to "convert to ...
