Create a print merge document with a connected data source file (csv, xls etc.) and save this.
Close the cdr file.
Change some entries in the data source file.
Reopen the cdr file.
Result: You have to reconnect the source file, otherwise the updated data will not be used. This is a very time consuming process.
Thanks for your suggestion in the Ideas Portal!
With the new September 2023 Subscriber Update the Print Merge functionality in CorelDRAW has been significantly enhanced and now provides the ability to synchronize a linked file with its source and incorporate the latest changes. Furthermore, alongside importing a data source file, you can now selectively import data from columns, which makes it easier to combine data from diverse sources, expanding your possibilities.
The update can be downloaded from the Patches & Updates page.
Note that CorelDRAW Graphics Suite subscription product and CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2023 (one-time purchase) are listed with two separate entries for their updates. The synchronization of a data source in Print Merge is available to users of CorelDRAW Graphics Suite Subscription as well as those purchasing CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2023 for perpetual use.
Other Print Merge enhancements such as image and QR code support for Variable Data Printing (VDP) are exclusively available with a CorelDRAW Graphics Suite subscription.
YES! And a better documentation of the ODBC-functionality.
Print Merge is a very mighty tool, but the documentation is bad. E. g. no word of Print Merge works not only with graphics text ...
And I miss in the otpions window a "mark all / mark none"-option and a simple sort option. (see the screenshot)
