Ctrl+I behaves different then Activelayer.import in different color profiles

I have a png file and import it via VBA with Activelayer.import, then I import the same image again but with Ctrl-I. Now the image looks completely different in terms of colors, even though I haven't changed any import options. Corel should behave the same way here. A standard color profile that exhibits the same error, for example, is SDTV PAL. Create a new document with this RGB profile. Import twice using both methods and the images will look different.
