Layer Collapse, Property Drag Copy, Style Layer, and Tapered Stroke Proposals

Dear CorelDRAW Development Team,

We would like to suggest several improvements based on missing features and new ideas that could significantly enhance usability and creativity in CorelDRAW 2025 and future versions:

  1. Quick Layer Collapse in Objects Docker
In previous versions (e.g., X7–2021), it was possible to quickly collapse a layer in the Object Manager by double-clicking next to an object name within the layer. This helped users navigate large documents more efficiently. In the 2025 Objects docker, this convenient function is missing. We kindly request restoring this quick collapse feature.

  2. Drag-and-Drop Property Copy in Objects Docker
Previously, right-dragging an object onto another object inside the Object Manager opened a context menu offering options like "Copy Fill Only", "Copy Outline Only", or "Copy All Properties". This fast and intuitive method is no longer available in the new Objects docker. Please consider bringing back this powerful workflow tool.

  3. New Proposal: “Style Layer”
We propose introducing a new layer type: the Style Layer.
Any object placed on or moved into a Style Layer would automatically inherit the layer’s predefined properties (such as fill color, outline style, font attributes, etc.).
Updating the layer’s style would instantly update all contained objects, improving consistency and greatly speeding up work in large or branded projects.

  4. New Proposal: Gradient and Tapered Stroke along Path
We suggest adding native support for strokes whose thickness and/or color can gradually change along the path direction (either linearly or using customizable transition algorithms).
This feature would allow artists to create dynamic, expressive lines directly, without needing workaround techniques like blending between shapes.
Such a function would be a major enhancement for illustrators, designers, and technical drawing workflows.

We hope these suggestions help improve CorelDRAW and keep it at the forefront of creative software.

Thank you for considering our feedback!
